Privacy Policy

This policy explains what this website collects, why, and who it is shared with. Last updated September 2, 2026.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to ratio-accounting.com and the forms on it. It does not govern the financial records and documents of Ratio Accounting clients. Client data is handled under the engagement letter signed at the start of an engagement and under the professional confidentiality obligations that apply to accountants.

Information you give us

You only give us information by choosing to submit it. That happens in three places:

  • Proposal and contact forms. Your name, email address, and, if you provide it, your phone number.
  • The Financial Health Check. Your name and email address, together with your answers to the assessment questions and the score they produce. The questions ask about how your business handles bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and planning. They do not ask for account numbers, tax identification numbers, or any other sensitive identifier.
  • Booking a call. Scheduling runs through Calendly, which collects the name, email, and any details you enter when you book.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one records standard technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and the site or advertisement that referred you. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads for this. Both set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally with them blocked.

How we use it

We use what you submit to respond to you, prepare the proposal or assessment you asked for, and follow up about working together. We use the automatic information to understand which pages and advertisements are working and to keep the site running properly.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Service providers

We use a small number of third parties to run this site. Each handles data on our behalf under its own privacy policy:

  • Vercel, for hosting and server logs
  • Formspree, for delivering form submissions to us
  • Google Workspace, for storing assessment responses
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads, for measurement
  • Calendly, for scheduling calls

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and assessment records for as long as we may reasonably need them to follow up, and longer where a business or legal record needs to be retained. If you ask us to delete your information and we are not required to keep it, we will.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and every email we send includes a way to do that. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. We apply these choices to everyone who asks, regardless of where they live.

To make any of these requests, call us at 415-481-9008, email info@ratio-accounting.com, or use the contact page.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions travel encrypted to the providers listed above. No website can promise perfect security, so please do not send account numbers, tax identification numbers, or other sensitive documents through the forms on this site. Once you are a client we will give you a secure way to send them.

Children

This site is meant for business owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here.
